Basically, I signed a contract at Virgin for lower data on a new phone. Went from 9gb, signed for 6, then they upgraded me to a 12gb plan on the same day with no notice, and I just got a chance to look at my strangely high bills. The explanation I recieved was along the lines of "because we can". They said it was a common practice for trade-ins and upgrades, but strangely my other line, upgraded the same day, didn't recieve this treatment.
I would love to get away from this company as soon as possible. I've heard of companies buying out clients' contracts and carrying the balance over to pull in new clients, but I'm not sure if it's still a regular practice. Does Koodo offer anything like this?
