Question

SIM card not corresponding on profile anymore

My phone services have stopped working after couple of years without any problems.
I check on a couple of things and strangely, the SIM card # on my koodo prepaid profile is not the same as the one in my phone
So I tried to change the card on my profile by entering the right number but the card is invalid.
I checked the number a couple of times.
Also tried the SIM card in 2 other phones and tried a good SIM card in my phone and it was working so the phone is fine.

The card is detected and I can see the number, just no services.

Could my card be damaged but still be detected?
I could get a new one but wanna make sure the card is the problem and not a bug with on my profile.

Thanks!

Sounds like you might have been a victim as well:

I’ll flag your post for Koodo for further action :)

Hello @Aldérick Gauthier

We are still investigating this, but in the meantime please make sure to flag the current SIM card as lost/stolen and change the password to your Self Serve account.

I ordered another SIM card, changed my password and deactivated the number..
Will I be able to use change the SIM card and use my phone safely again?

Thanks!

That should help deter another attack. You can change your phone number and also schedule a callback to add port protection on your account. https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/port-fraud-protection

Just changing the SIM card would not be a wise move you think?

I was thinking of changing the card for now and probably the number later when I  have time to change every accounts linked to it and do the port protection thing, probably in a week or two.

Thanks a lot for the help, really appreciated.
