Purchasing Overseas Phones

With overseas purchased phones does the phone need to support all bands i.e. 3G 850 /1900 and or LTE 1700 /2100 to work on the Koodo network? Or as along as it supports one of the two i.e. 3G 850 or 1900 will it still work fine? I've been looking at a phone that has the following network support specs:
2G: GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz
3G: WCDMA 850/900/1900/2100MHz
4G: LTE 800/1800/2100/2600MHz
From what I've seen Koodo supports: 3G, HSDPA, HSPA+, UMTS and WCDMA all 850 /1900 as well as 4G (LTE) 1700 /2100, and 2G CDMA 850/1900 , EVDO 850/1900
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

4G/LTE may be a little flaky, but at the moment koodo only used that for high speed data, not voice or text. The phone should work fine. Edit: koodo does not, and neber had supported 2G service. Rogers is the only provider in Canada with a 2G network.

Thanks, but I am correct in thinking that the phone needs to support both bands to work on the network for example both 850 and 1900 rather than just 850 or 1900.

To work reliably it would need to support all frequencies. All koodo's towers use either 850 or 1900. They do not all use both.
