Profile should have option for a persons location

Curious if there might be a way to implement a simple town and province to appear below a persons avatar. I'm proposing that this be a mandatory procedure tied into creating their avatar on this site. There have been several instances where a persons' location was needed to answer questions related to their specific location/region. Rather than having to post a message asking their location and waiting for a response, we would be able to view their location at a glance, thus speeding up the process of helping others in a timely manner.

As part of their Profile, yes this would be good to have.

On the other hand, some people might prefer not to list this information for whatever reason. Though, yes, I agree it would be useful to know in certain circumstances.

Have it as a field, but not a required one.

Hey Rikkster, you have a nice idea, however Get Satisfaction controls how the profiles are set up, so something like this would need to be passed by them. We can take it under consideration and proceed from there 🙂.

I know it's not Mandatory but he field is there.

Great suggestion Rikkster, we'll pass this idea along to Get Satisfaction - no guaruntees that they'll be able to make it a mandatory field though. To Chad's point, the ability add your location to your profile has always been possible. The issue of course is that you don't have to fill it in 😉
