Porting number to an existing Koodo prepaid account


Hi! I have a Koodo prepaid account with an existing number (say with phone number A) for a few months now. There is some credit and boosters left in this account that I would like to keep. Meanwhile, I have a Fido phone number (say with phone number 😎 that I would like to port to the Koodo account I have (with credit and boosters), so that at the end of the day I have the credit and booster left in my Koodo prepaid account, but the phone number A is changed to phone number B. I do not need phone number A anymore. Is that possible? What should I do on both sides? Thanks in advance!

Hi Bill, Of course it's possible! All you need to do is visit self service: https://prepaidselfserve.koodomobile.com/ Then Base Plan & Boosters -> Change Phone Number and then tick Transfer a wireless or wireline number from Koodo or another provider. All your boosters will still be there, no worries. Of course you'll lose whatever credit you have with Fido and your plan with them but I guess that is exactly what you wanted! You won't have to do anything on Fido's side.

Thank you, and yes that sounds like what I wanted! However, I have seen posts on the Internet about Rogers/Fido requiring a 30 day notice for cancellation/porting, and they might also charge an extra 30 days of service (which is not allowed by CRTC regulations and needs to file a complaint). Any ideas on that?
