poor coverage

i am in Sherwood park Alberta, recently on koodo, but my family have had koodo for a while. i was previously on telus. coverage seems very poor, internet speed slow. I am not 5g, but that shouldn't mater unless it is being throttled down? why does telus and rogers have better coverage in my area, thinking of going to rogers.

I'm in Sherwood Park often and don't have any coverage issues. Koodo is also owned by Telus and uses the Telus network so the Telus coverage should be the same as the Koodo coverage.

What phone are you using and where did you get it from? Have you tried restarting your phone?

its not the phone, i have  a new iphone pro max 15, my wife a14, all experience the same thing. My telus and koodo definatley operate differently as far as service. i know telus bought out  koodo, but are they using the same service/equipment?  We are aspen trails/ north side of Sherwood. also we were camping in bow valley and had zero data coverage, my sister whom is on rogers, had no issues.

Well, iPhone 15 hasn’t been released yet. Are you using a prototype or something else?

can you put a Telus sim into the phone when you had issue to see if that was the issue with the phone or network?

Telus did not purchase Koodo. They actually created koodo 15 years ago, meaning they were always on the Telus network.

So Bow Valley is a much different location than Sherwood Park. However, my family was in Canmore about 3 weeks ago and we had no noticeable connection issues in the region.

Did you purchase your phone from koodo?

alright, i may not know the difference between the iPhone 14 or 15, but i am not dumb. this is happening on multiple devices, we have 4 different i phones. some have the 5 g plan, some don't. my phone, a 14 plus, was purchased from apple directly 6  months ago, its new. when i get close to home the data coverage drops slowly, to one bar until it switches to WiFi, sometimes it hangs up when i am not home and there is no data coverage, my wife is experiencing the same thing. Is there a setting i am unaware of? reading other forums there are coverage issues in Sherwood park around my area, I tried to call koodo, no luck other than this  forum, where i keep going in circles.. Is there a coverage strength map somewhere?

i had a telus sim 2 months ago, and the coverage was better...didnt think much about it at the time.

I was just at Costco in Sherwood Park and reception was fine. Also worked in Emerald Hills and Millennium Place.

It could be a localized issue where you may unfortunately be in a bit of a dead zone. Are you having issues in specific areas of Sherwood Park or all over the Park?

Is there any way to go into your Settings>Cellular and change your cellular settings from 5G auto to LTE or 3G?

Does that help in any way?
