Phone swap - activation time / plan continuation

I need to do a phone swap through the customer service number. I have an old Motorola phone with Koodo with no sim card, and am 'upgrading' to the LG A-341with a sim card. How long does it take for the activation to take effect on the LG? Also, the plan stays the same right? It's the unlimited $50 billed.

Plan does not need to change. You can log into Self Serve to do the swap by going to Mobile Phone then selecting Swap Phone. Put the SIM card serial number in the empty box then click the submit.continue/next button. Within a couple minutes, if that, the new phone should be working. There is a $25 fee if you get an agent over the phone to do it. If you do have issues using Self Serve, you can then call and see if they can help you do it. If issues still persist, the agent is able to do the swap and no cost as there is an issue beyond your control as to why Self Serve will not allow the swap done by yourself.
