Hello! I’m recently switching over to Koodo from Public Mobile and want to keep my old number, so I need to transfer my number. However, where I live there’s no cell service and my understanding is that PM will send me a text to confirm the transfer, this text will be SMS but I’m unable to receive them unless I go somewhere that has cell but when I go somewhere that has cell I won’t have wifi. Will I still be able to transfer my number?

Hi there,
You're correct. When you initiate the port process you will be sent an SMS to respond to for security reasons. Once you respond yes to the text, the porting process will begin.
You don't require wifi to go through the porting process if this is your primary concern. If it is taking some time to transfer and you want to check its status, this is when you will need wifi as to check it you do so through your Koodo self serve account.
