New Activations?

When it comes to the bonus.gifts, what does "only available with new activations on the Tab" mean? I have a phone that I bought outright, so I've never used the tab, and now I'd like to get a new phone, using a Tab medium payment plan. Can I still get the.gift?

Nope, it's only for new activations. Sorry. Most carriers only give out bonus.gifts, in store credit, etc. on new acts because it makes the companies more money, sadly.

Even if you brought your own phone, if koodo had a bonus.gift offer you would have received it. It's not tide to tab use just opening a new line with them. If you add someone to your account you would get the bonus.gift as well.

New activation means if you open a new line/account. Upgrade your phone doesn't count as new activation 😞

Some retail partners offer bonus.gifts even if you're not a new customer, providing that you're getting a new phone on the tab. For example, BestBuy had a Black Friday promo on the Koodo Nexus 5 - $100 BestBuy.gift card when purchased on Tab M, available for existing customers as well.
I would like to follow up on this, since it's really confusing:
I have an account, but no current plan running (I terminated the last one 6 month ago).

So if I get a new plan now, a new phone number, and a new phone with a tab, does that quality as a new activation?

"I have an account, but no current plan running (I terminated the last one 6 month ago)."

So, you canceled your postpaid account 6 month ago.
If so, you don't have an account right now, correct?

If you get a phone on the Tab with a new number/line, then yes, it's a new activation.

I have an account in the sense that I can login onto the Koodo website and I see my personal data and I still have a balance of 8$ that Koodo owes me (!).

But I don't have a running postpaid plan, and no current number.

So does this qualify for new activation?

I'm confused...
You said you terminated plan 6 month ago...   Have you called in and cancel your account?
Are you paying anything monthly?

You have an account without plan nor phone number...?

Do you have more than 2 line?

I think I have a rather complicated case: I used to have a monthly plan, about 6 month ago I canceled it and moved my phone number to a Koodo prepaid account.

This prepaid account is terminated now, so my old phone number is inactive.

However, I can still login on the Koodo website for monthly customers.

Ok, Now I get it.
If you ported/moved your postpaid number to prepaid, then you don't have a postpaid account anymore.

Then, your prepaid account will be expired  if you haven't renew your base plan for more than 90 days. And you said your prepaid account is also expired.

You can still access your self sere because you still have $8 balance, maybe?
You should call Koodo and ask about your balance.
(Usually, you can access your postpaid self serve for 90 days after you canceled your account. )

So, in your case.
It's a new activation if you open a postpaid account with a new number,

What if I was with koodo before, then moved to a diff company for a few months but didn't like them and wanted to switch back to koodo. Is that considered new activation since It was cancelled even tho I was a subscriber before?

Yes, Kat B, that should be a new activation.
