Both iPhone and Apple watch need to operate on the same mobile provider’s network.

See list of Canadian carriers (including Telus) that support Apple watch Series 6 and Apple watch SE

https://www.apple.com/watch/cellular/

Since Koodo operates on the Telus network, it is possible that it MAY work on the Telus/Koodo network.

To verify the above noted compatibility information, you should ask for a callback and request confirmation from a technical support agent.

@Gau Cat No need to call in. The cellular version of iWatch currently only works on full service brands like TELUS.

@Bernard Koodo you made me laugh at iWatch :P

From what I understand, you could put an eSIM on the apple watch but that wouldn’t be the best option.

@Robert T Sure. You could put an eSIM in many thing s now. :-)  Even a blender if you wish. :-) Bottom line is Apple unfortunately did not come out with a true standalone watch just yet. Meaning it hast to have a “parent” and has to be “tied” to an iPhone. The real thing would be if one could just buy and activate an iWatch by itself. Maybe next year...or not.
