Moving number to Koodo from Rogers

I had a person in store help me move my lines to Koodo from Rogers...they are all moved now but one thing that I didn’t ask, do I need to now cancel my contrakt with Rogers or is that automatically cancelled?

No, don’t cancel the Rogers service. You need it to be active so you could port your number from Rogers to Koodo https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/moving-your-number-koodo

After the number transferring completed, your Rogers account is automatically cancelled. You should also receive a notice from Rogers about the cancellation.

People should keep in mind that cancelling A to move to B does not expunge any residual obligation to A, even if your account is automatically closed. Check your situation carefully, and do not cancel with A first, because you will lose any claim to your current number.

The numbers have been moved in store, just want to make sure that I don’t need to cancel them with Rogers...don’t want to pay another $200.00 for a month that I’m not with Rogers.

 

I moved to koodo yesterday afternoon.  Number still not ported.  How long was the delay for your number ?  Just wanted to see if this is normal.

Who was the previous carrier? are you a normal cellular customer or a homephone customer?
If you are cellular customer, did you receive the text from the previous customer to confirm the transfer? https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/moving-your-number-koodo

Thanks for responding.  Moved number from rogers. Mobile number.

Never received the text.  I think my request to port the number has to be done again.  Sales rep threw out my old Sim card

If they threw out your old rogers SIM, you might not be able to receive text from Rogers. You might have to contact them to bypass that. You could also contact Koodo/Telus porting center at +1.844.232.7678 and ask a rep for more information on the status of the porting.
