In the last month, my mobile data at home (Richmond Hill, Yonge & 16th) has been completely unusable. It used to work fine with no issues at all for years. But in the last month, my mobile data is useless. I checked the access point settings and they are the same as the ones listed on Koodo’s site,

I’m listing the servers too because it struggles to even grab the Telus server for testing. It worked maybe 1/20 times to grab the Telus network. Before, no issues whatsoever.

 

 

You first increase my price by $5, and now I can’t even use my mobile data. This is great.

Have you tried resetting your network settings and/or try manually selecting 4G/LTE only in your cellular settings to see if either help?


What happens when you insert your SIM card in another device? Do you get the same data speeds?

Yup, tried resetting the network settings and it did not fix it.

Manually selecting 4G/LTE results are pretty much the same.

I inserted my SIM card into my iPhone XR. It recognizes that I have LTE but I have no mobile data at all. I can make phone calls just fine so I’m connected to the network, but I’m not able to use data. I checked the cellular network settings to be sure too.

This whole thing is like being connected to wifi but the router has no access to the internet. It’s super frustrating.


Is this only occurring in your area? Do you get better speeds in other parts of the city?

Omg I’m literally having the same problem. Yonge and 16th (same area as you) and no mobile data for more than a week now. I didn’t notice until now because I’ve been on wifi but since I tried using data since last week, it does not work. Tried it on 3 different phones. I submitted a ticket to koodo and waiting for them to call back on Monday. They told me to get a new sim card too but that didn’t make a difference. I tried on Android 13, ios16 and iOS17. It makes no difference. 


koodo said it is because of the towers and that we are in a low coverage area? It used to work fine before.. They don’t have an ETA for when they will install new towers. 

 

I think its best to start looking for other telecom companies to switch to if we’re consistently experiencing mobile data outage. Since black friday deals are going on, its the perfect time to switch. If not, there is still boxing day.
