I keep my data off so I need to get notification of MMS messages to turn my data on...why don’t I receive a notification...it could be days until I get a message not knowing it is there.

Just to confirm, you are asking for a sms notification when you have a MMS? If so, no I haven't seen any Canadian carrier had that feature.
Which plan are you on btw? If possible, I would just let the data on so MMS can be delivered automatically.
When cellular data wasn't popular, you used to receive an SMSM notification that an MMS has been delivered. Not anymore.

I didnt know this actually stopped. But since i have data, I guess i never noticed the change.

I’M not 100% sure it stopped, but I don’t seem to receive them anymore
