What do you think? About Bell new low cost “Lucky Mobile” will it be a difficult competition for Koodo? I heard it has plans to share data, free unlocking of all phones,,,will you move?

All carriers (including Koodo) have to unlock phones for free as of today thanks to the CRTC.
Lucky will just be a different way of laying out the same priced plans as every other budget brand it won't be any cheaper.

We shall see Chappy. Based on the blue guys' announcement they really seem to want to hurt Rogers' other brands. Lucky is zone based on 3g. Before they hurt us I think Bell may hurt itself. :-)

Oh yeah, we've been unlocking phones for free since Nov 9th. Has Bell?

Interesting, I owned a iPhone 5s from Koodo and I go a used iPhone 7 from my wife at her work by free, but locked with Rogers. Koodo told me that they couldn’t unlock it, and I shall go and unlock It first with Rogers then I could switch it

Of course. No carrier is in the position to unlock a phone that wasn't part of their inventory at some point. Bell can't unlock Rogers phones and vice versa.

Whenever a new carrier comes, there will be promotions from all carriers 🙂. I am waiting to hear something new from Koodo 🙂

Me too. I'd like to see something new in PLAN bonuses/changes to reward longtime customers. Telecoms who cater only to new sign ups will see long term customers go where the offers are.

Not a fan of zones and restricting data speeds.

I bought a lucky mobile Sim card.The coverage is not bad. But called poor customer service. Never able to hook the phone to the internet.And the technicians do not any why tried the different phone but the same issue.If you want to use mobile data I would not recommend Lucky Mobile.

Did they have you check the apn settings? Make sure the only one listed is for Lucky and nothing else. If you find others, delete them. Assuming your using an Android phone. For iPhone I'd suggest you reset the carrier settings

This is more like Bell’s take on Freedom Mobile and Chatr.

Freedom Mobile has LTE and Fido now offers special plans when someone threatens to move. They are starting to get scared. Koodo got the QC plan loophole going for them for now.

It looks like someone went on a spree and deleted my posts again. LOL too late

@Y
well yeah, they now have LTE but only on select phones. Also, if you step out of their home network, you get charge $$$ for roaming. Like seriously if you are just on the wrong side of the street.
They are great only if you live, work, and take vacation in their coverage area. Which is very small. They are not even an option in the city I live in.

Try to keep it to one profile David. That would help.
