Locked out and told I do not exist

I was locked out from my on-line account because I forgot my password and tried to reset it following prompts. I want to get a link sent to me to reset my password but it tells me my email is not registered on the site...however I have an email confirming that I have my account linked to the email I typed in today trying to access my account. So WTF do I ask you to do from here if it will not send me a link to reset my password to the original email address that I used?
