Late payment charges

I always use pre-auth credit card payment to pay my Koodo bill. Unfortunately around the same time that Koodo was supposedly deduct the payment, my card was compromised. Koodo self serve website shows that the payment went through and then reversed the next day. I didn't get any notification when this happen and wasn't aware until I received my next bill with extra late charges. Koodo should've notify me when the payment didn't go through so that I can use other ways of payment to avoid this late charges. I am being penalized for something beyond my control (card was compromised and had to be cancelled.) Koodo should implement this notification system, especially if any of this will affect our credit rating!!!!

Actually this is your responsibility to ensure all credit card information is updated on all your pre-authorized accounts after the bank informs you of your compromised card. Do you expect the cable company to notify you? How about hydro?

The person on the other line at Koodo, told me to pay 126.00. They did not mention the 32 cents, and now I have a late charge of 2.57. If they dont take it off, im going elsewhere. Tired of them ripping me off for 500 min a month and only 1gb of data. Theyre a rip off.

Your situation has nothing to do with OP.  Dunno why you felt the need to call me names from a post from 2 years ago.  

How are they ripping you off with 500min a month and 1gb of data?  Did you sign up for a higher plan and they are giving you less?    If you signed up for the plan (and it seems like you know what the plan includes), how is this ripping you off?  Didnt you sign and agree with the plan?  You know you can stop and leave Koodo at anytime too (the CRTC made sure of that)

When I was with Fido, if the payment didn't go through once they will notify me (and I will make sure that they have something that will work) and will try again. In this case, if it happen so suddenly (around the same date when Koodo was supposed to deduct payment) I won't have time to know whether Koodo managed to process the payment or whether it was rejected. My cable company will notify me if the payment didn't go through! I pay my hydro manually, since they will charge extra if I use my credit card and never late!!

In this case I think I'm better off without pre-auth payment.

Talked to the customer support and they removed the charges 🙂
