Koodo blows

I bought two new phones from a cellular store called Wow Boutique and after 5 days my account was deactivated because of fraud. I am a new customer to KOODO I haven't even used the phones yet they were a christmas.gift to my two teenagers honestly this blows big time. Now i have to wait for a call from the fraud department to tell me what happened. Has this happened to anyone before? I have dealt only with bell and Rogers in the past never had problems like this before. My purchase is under 14 days and i was wondering if i should just return the phones and forget koodo altogether whos needs this hasle.

First of all, I've never heard of WOW boutique. What is this store and why buy a Koodo phone from them? Is it cheaper? Maybe the problem is not on Koodo's side and there's something from that store you bought the phone from that is not legit. Try calling Koodo and see what they have to say. Here in the community we can't verify those things!

Wow! Boutique is a Koodo reseller in Southern Ontario. They do Koodo, Telus and ... Wind? I think?... Its a fairly new store, less than a year old anyways.

Ya, Wow! Mobile Boutique is just like any of the other retailers. The Sell Rogers, Fido, Telus, Koodo and Chatr. They are still fairly new and most of them opened this year.

I'm a bit confused as to the situation. It sounds like you don't yet know what has happened "Now i have to wait for a call from the fraud department to tell me what happened."
like i said has anyone experienced this from koodo where you buy a new phone. Then its flagged as fraudulent and service turned off. I never even made a call with any of the phones. Got an email saying the following We’re sorry to see you go. You recently scheduled your mobility service to be cancelled on November 15, 2014 for the following phone numbers on your account the email said I cancelled lol. I phoned them to find out the Fraud department did. I have never had a problem with other carriers first time Koodo customer is this sort of thing what happens all the time with Koodo or what? If so I'm going to take the phones back and they lose a customer. The wow mobile boutique have stores all across Canada http://www.wowmobile.ca/en/ I bought from them because i got a $75.gift card. anyways they could be the problem but back to the original question has this happen to anyone before dealing with Koodo. No one called me to take with me i had my regular phone number assigned with them they could of called but nothing. thanks

This has never happened to anyone before, no. Unless they bought their phone second hand, or from a shady source. Since you didn't do either, I suggest you call Koodo and have them go to the bottom of this problem.

I believe that there is something in the system which flags brand new activations with 0 usage. I have heard of this at another retailer, and the system automatically flags phones like this since they are very commonly fraudulent. Usually when a phone is activated (like at a Koodo Shop), there is at least some usage to do a test call, or set up voicemail. So if you purchased both phones and just put them away as Christmas presents without there being any usage that is what could have happened. Im sure that when you talk to customer service they will be able to try and sort things out and fix the issue.
well to update everyone following this... it wasn't where I bought it I got turned off because my name was too common and I guess some dude in my area with the same name was on there fraud watch list go figure. You think in today's computer age with credit checks and reputation reports they would of check that before they gave me the phones so my customer experience wouldn't be hurt and they wouldn't be in danger of losing a customer. I got perfect credit anyways Koodo you need to work on this go talk with the guy in the fraud department that suspended my account with itchy trigger finger and take his finger off the suspend button before he ruins some other new customers experience with your company.

I had a problem 30 years ago when I lived in a town where another guy with the same name was passing bad cheques. I ended up including my middle name as well as my first name on all my banking transactions. Seemed easier than either moving or changing my name! Stuff happens.
