Is your number in an area that can be ported?

The number you entered is invalid. Please check to ensure you’ve entered the number correctly. that is the message I get when trying to transfer (online) a valid phone number. Any advice?

Is there a link where one can see WNP? Wireless Number Portability When I asked multiple people in Koodo booths - no one said anything about certain numbers not being portable.

Where do.you live? City & Province. Maybe koodo doesn't have service normally in that area code?
koodo phones work - so there is service but a 224 or 235 number doesn't seem to be available. Chetticamp or Belle Cote or Margaree, NS

Koodo might have coverage in the area because their network is shared with Bell, but that doesn't mean they actually are set up to sell services for that location. Those three locations do not show up in Koodo's available numbers page, so they don't offer service in those cities and you won't be able to port a number from another provider. However, you're free to get or port a number for another city and use there.

Looks like Bell/Aliant Mobility already have service in Cheticamp, so you should be able to port numbers there by February 6. http://localcallingguide.com/lca_prefix.php?exch=128850

Here is a link that talks about WNP requirements for Koodo and a link below to see if your number is eligible to move http://help.koodomobile.com/getting-started-with-koodo/moving-your-number-to-koodo-new/how-do-i-move-my-number-to-koodo
http://www.crtc.gc.ca/cisc/eng/portable.htm To check if a specific number can be ported to Koodo: https://secure.koodomobile.com/checktransfereligibilityparrot/default.do?lang=en&appname=otherportal Make sure you're entering it correctly -10 digits, including the area code. Example: 5871234567
much thanks Hello. The document above shows that for my area (Chetticamp 224 235) the numbers should legally be allowed to be transferred after Dec 2014 and completed by Feb 6, 2015
