Is putting a phone on tab REQUIRED for upgrading an existing plan?

I've been a Koodo customer for a long time.  Right now I get 10G, unlimited Cananda calls and N.America sms/mms for $60.  I have no tab balance, using my own phone.

I want more data but I don't need a new phone right now.  It appears if I want to upgrade my plan I have to put a phone on a tab.

They have a 15G plan for $55 and an iPhone X for $5 a month with $0 up front on tab plus.  Do I really have to go through the song and dance of ordering an outdated phone I don't want to get 5G of data for the same monthly price I'm paying now?

Dud you login to your self serve a d check what plans are available for you?

I just logged in and I can see $55 for 15GB.

Do you want to go ahead to switch your plan through self serve? (I have a good plan, and I don't want to risk loosing it just to see how it works). Does it ask you to buy a phone?

Hi @Crashish

Are you using the steps here: https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/changing-your-rate-plan?search_api_views_article_search_fulltext=change%20plan when attempting the plan change?
