is my old A8 samsung phone automatically unlocked if i bought new A71 samsung phone and using on my account?

Bought new phone and using. want to know if my old cell phone is automatically unlocked or do I have to have unlocked if I plan on selling? Its an A8 Samsung cell phone.

No.  If it was bought pre-2017 then it would be still locked.  You can request an unlock code from Koodo.  And then enter it when you insert a non-koodo sim
