I can't receive or send any text message. But I can receive and do phone calls.


I can't receive or send any text message. But I can receive and do phone calls (I bought 500 Anytime Minutes for 25$). I just (today) port my number to Koodo from another carrier (Bell). I activated my Koodo prepaid phone with a Koodo rep. He told me about a thing : Koodo will contact my mother to have her authorization for something (I think it's because I was a minor when I had my last, and first, cellphone). Do I have to wait until they call my mother, and then I will be able to send and receive text messages? If so, why can I make phone calls if they didn't ask for her authorization yet?

Was your last phone on your mother's account? Are you porting in you number to Koodo from your mother account?

If so then you'll need to wait for all the authorizations to be done before you'll be able to totally use your phone. You're able to make calls because Koodo has assigned a blind number to your device while they wait for the port to finish. You should get a txt message once all is good to go. This may include calling your mother to get authorization.
