How to cancel Koodo service

We live in Atikokan and own a old Samsung flip open phone. As you are no longer able to provide service with this model, we will need to cancel our service with you. How do we do that?

You must call Kooodo in order to cancel your service. Check here for more details: https://c.getsatisfaction.com/koodo/topics/how-to-cancel-service

Thanks Chad. Wish it could be done on-line though.

Yeah. Well, I think they want a chance to find out why your canceling. See if they can fix whatever your reason is.

It should be able to be done online. This is a marketing ploy. If we want to cancel an account, we've probably already figured out why. I've managed a lot of websites, and I'm not impressed.

@ Andrea, so if you had a business you don't want to know why people are cancelling? They want to hear you out to understand your reasons and hey, they might offer you a better deal to stay!

I have no issue telling them why I am leaving.  I object to the $10 fee because you have to speak to a rep.  I'm on the phone with them as I type this message.  That was what the prerecorded message says.  That is so not right!  its not a marketing ploy, if the $10 fee is true, its a rip off.  I CANNOT find out on line how to do it myself!

Hi Shirley,
They won't charge you $10 for something that you cannot do it yourself in Selfserve.

Ok! that's good to know!  Thank you for responding.  Sadly, I had to disconnect.....Higher than anticipated volumes....I understand that.  I'll try again another time.

I also couldn't get through to cancel my plan. I think they do this on purpose. I filled a complaint with BBB. Stating I wanted to cancel my account. I got a reply about it where they said they tried to contact me but couldn't get through...I called that person's number and also couldn't get a hold of them...they just don't give a shit about you if you want to cancel. It's been over a month and probably over 10 hours of my personal time wasted on hold or writing emails to them. I hope enough people complain and they get a class action lawsuit.

Edit: They won't tell you this but if you port your number to another provider, you will get your Koodo plan cancelled automatically by their computer system...probably something the government made them put in place when they forced them to allow people to cancel their contract. You can get around Koodo's shitty service that way. You can really tell that Koodo is run by a big baby that is so upset and still doesn't want to do what they are told because they are greedy, sleezy, psychopathic shitbags. The government stepped in to protect you but Koodo isn't going to tell you that.

Actually if you look through the bajilkion posts here about porting, you'd notice that people have been telling others to just port out for quite some time.

Also it's kinda hard to charge someone for service when they port their number to another provider. It closes the line.

Anyway I'm a big baby poopy bag and I'm exhausted from all my coin counting and plotting against you. (hey , I saw that gesture, that wasn't nice).

narf, if you wish to trade insults, please start a new thread, so that the poor topic starters (three years ago!) won't get all these emails in their mailbox. Thank you!

Find a Koodo shop talk to them upgrading, chances are you can upgrade to a newer phone without paying anything upfront (with Tab)
The account owner needs to call *611 from the koodo phone and request the account to be cancel.

Except the phone no longer works on the Koodo network.

Right!  I guess I posted on a "thread" (or whatever the right terminology is) ... I just wanted to cancel my plan completely, and wasn't worried about not having it anymore.
