I received this today. It shows that it cam from Koodo but in the body of the text it says it's from revenue Canada. It's clearly a phishing scam and I'd like to report it so nobody is a victim of this attack.

@Scotian17  The best place to report these is via the Government’s department here:

Best way to report is to give full details here. But definitely leave personal info like your nunber out.

Does Koodo have any spam/phishing filters for SMS? Should there not also be a way to report phishing SMS to Koodo to improve that filtering?

I just got one purporting to be from Scotiabank.

I just tried visiting https://cyber.gc.ca/en/cyber-incidents and it says “page not found”. If it worked 22 days ago, it’s already gone.

On the incident management page at https://cyber.gc.ca/en/incident-management, for phishing they say to report it to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centrehttps://www.antifraudcentre-centreantifraude.ca/report-signalez-eng.htm

Unfortunately, Koodo does not offer spam/phishing filtering for SMS. This is likely due to the random nature of these messages. Some Android and iPhone devices offer features that will block unknown message senders. These features are usually found in the messaging settings area of the phone.
