Help me escape the wrath of Bell!


Hi I'm locked into a contract with Bell and have been jerked around with them since day one (they bullied me into a new contract with their nasty company). Is there anything your company offers that would aid me in getting out of their clutches and into a new option?

Koodo will be more than happy to have you as a client, unfortunately Koodo does not buy out contracts from other providers but just think about the savings you will be doing if switching since we have amazing plans and very affordable prices, probably those savings will cover a portion of what you have to pay to Bell to get rid of your contract... You can bring your own device and you may get 10% off additional on your biil, besides you will be having an excellent coverage, excellent customer service, Koodo community, answer to your questions and much more...
yeah but the problem is they overbill me every month. (which I have to call and get credited for - now they say I complain too much and are giving me a hard time about their own errors) and I can't get out of contract unless I pay them 600$. I don't know about you but that is more than 1 month of rent for me. I don't have that kind of money laying around

Yeah, I know it is a lot of money, but paying overages and more for your plan, at the end could me costly... I hope you find the way out 😉
I would be on Koodo right now but the agent kept me waiting for 50 minutes without even a "I'll be with you in just one minute" Just stared at me awkwardly and then helped some other customer who walked up after

Hello Lauren, Oh no, thats not really how we want to treat our potential customers. I apologize in behalf. But we would definitely be happy to have you on board with us. As you said, you will be saving tons of money if you switch to any of our Canada-Wide plans. Did you know that all our plans comes with Voicemail 10, Call Display, Conference Calling, Unlimited Text and Picture Messaging International. Just tell them you moved to northern Manitoba lol. But as Camilo first answered, unfortunately Koodo doesn't buy out existing contracts with other carriers. But as many others have said, when you look at things, a lot of times that cancellation fee is more than balanced out by rate plan savings(especially if they are constantly overbilling you).

Not so unfortunate that they don't buy out contracts. Why would Lauren get a break of $600 and I as a customer of koodo wouldn't. Gotta be fair to the people that keep koodo alive.
Why you would think any phone provider would help pay your cancelation fee? You signed a contract knowing that there is a cancelation fee. If you want out before your contract is up you will have to pay the fee. This applies to any contract that has an early termiantion fee.

As a customer service representative for a cell phone company I know policies an what agents are capable of. Bell agents abuse their power whole heartedly. Also I know telus does do contract buyouts. Clearly people who are rude like you have never had to experience the harassing and belittling nature bell exhibits regularly. Ive dealt with the BBB and am looking for options. Not handouts.

I've dealt with bell in the past. I recommend you not make assumptions about what I have and have not experienced because THAT is just straight up rude.

Well you stay with this company then. I'll likely just cancel and forget the whole ordeal because its been nothing but a headache with any company I've been in contact with since I got my very first cell. People are way to dependent on them anyways

I never stated that I was with Bell anymore. Another assumption by you. You really should practice what you preach.

Yes, you can always file a complaint with Bell. To fix your problem however, there really is only 2 options. You can either wait until your contract expires and then come to Koodo or cancel your contract and pay the fee.
