If anyone has an Evergreen that spontaneously shuts down, here's how to fix it. Remove the back and the battery. Take a short length of electrical tape and place it on top of the bracket that holds the sim card in place. This apparently stops the bracket from shorting into the back of the battery, which causes the shut down (probably monitoring a voltage spike). In two months, Koodo tech service couldn't reproduce the problem or solve the problem, which re-occurred as soon as I got the phone back. The Internets revealed this solution and the phone has subsequently worked flawlessly for over six months.
