Does the Wireless Home Phone service work in the event of a power outage?

Just looking for some details on the Wireless Home Phone service.  Seeing if it is an actual option for my elderly relatives.

In addition to the power question with the Voicemail 10 am I correct in saying you only can get 10 messages which are kept for only 10 days?

Also what if you need more than one phone in your home?  I'm guessing you need a hub per phone then?  Or do you need to figure out a way to utilize the same hub for multiple phones in the home?

Your best bet is to hook the hub to one of those multi handset single base cordless phone systems and distribute the handsets around the house...

For safety, also buy a cheap corded phone and a two line splitter and attach that phone directly to the hub. That way if the power goes out,,you'll still have that hardwired phone attached to the hub which has battery backup.

Dunno the answer to your Voicemail questions but you could always use the Voicemail system included with most of these multi handset phones. Just a thought. this is how we setup my mother in laws voip line.

Your best bet is to hook the hub to one of those multi handset single base cordless phone systems...If you want to wear suspenders as well as a belt, you an get a UPS from Staples, Amazon, BestBuy etc. that will give you several hours of autonomy if the power goes down. I have my modems, computer, hard drives and device chargers on one of these. Also prevents damage from surges and drop outs. In a rural area where we get those 10-second at-a-time power failures every time the weather gets nasty, the UPS is a godsend.

Your best bet is to hook the hub to one of those multi handset single base cordless phone systems...According to dfbutt's FAQ link, the home phone unit has a battery back-up built in for 4-5 hours of service.

The separate UPS units you can buy have various capacities depending on how big the battery is and how much you are normally drawing from it. For consumer-priced units, figure on 4-12 hours.
Since this topic is still open I'm going to post here in case anyone is wondering about phone service active if power loss happens while using Koodo Wireless Home Phone.
First off the answer is either yes or no.
Yes the phone will still work for a few hours if you receive the ZTE (black hardware) unit when you sign up because it incorporates a battery that serves the unit should power be lost.
No if you receive the white Alcatel Linkhub HH41NH as this doesn't have a removable internal battery.
I just signed a friend up and found this out when he got the Alcatel unit however I hear they are distributing the Black ZTE units so I'm going to inquire to have his swapped out.
