My wife has a Samsung S5 phone, and I would like to give her my S8 phone.
The sim card in the S5 does not seem to fit the sim card slot on the S8.

The Samsung S5 used the microSIM size while the S8 used nanoSIM. I would suggest you check if you could punch out the MicroSIM into NanoSIM. If you couldn’t, then you would need a new SIM. you could get it from the store or online (Make sure you choose the correct prepaid or postpaid SIM). After that you could switch SIM in self-serve.
