Bonus Gift - Still for new activations?

I know this question has been asked before, but it's been a year since any clear answers were given. Are the bonus.gifts for new activations only? If I were to cancel my current phone, and open a new account would I get the $100 bonus.gift?

Don't they have to wait 90 days or something to get the activation.gifts?

No you usually receive them at the time of purchase, the referrals you have to wait for that may be what your thinking of.

You'd lose your current number by canceling outright. Unless you port out your number elsewhere (unlikely to be free). Then you'd have to choose from one of the current plans that Kopdo offers. This simply isn't worth the hassle for the.gift card, in my opinion. BestBuy has offered.gift cards for existing customers at upgrade from time to time. You may want to check them out.

Paul, I meant that I thought the new activation.gifts only applied to brand new customers or people that have left Koodo for 90 days before activating again.

Hi there...!

The answer is yes, but opening a new account brings a couple of details that I don't know if you considered already, like losing your number, another credit check, having a TAB pay off on your final bill, probably losing a good plan you already have, calling Customer Service to request cancellation, etc...

Is it really worth it? It is up to you to think about it...

Enjoy!

Ehh kind of a hassle either way. Koodo is no different than other companies in this regard I guess. Zilch for customer loyalty. I am disappoint.

Thanks for your reply

Well, you can always have a talk with Customer Service to see if based on your file there is something extra that can be done! Koodo always appreciates clients loyalty!

They do still have.gift cards on upgrades at retailers from time to time. Its not usually all of the phones, but they do have them. And as for being disappointed in Koodo, weren't you basically talking about trying to cheat the system to get what you want in your first post?

Not saying I would... too much hassle for $50 or $100, personally. It is a silly system if it can be "cheated" so easily though.

Being disappointed in a company because of poor customer loyalty really has no bearing on my moral compass, but thanks for insinuating that I lack one. Appreciate it.

It's not cheating if they're not violating any terms.
