It’s really a matter of personal preference. If your heart is not set on Huawei, there’s the Motorola One Hyper offered as certified pre-owned (while supplies last) or brand new. (128 GB storage, 4 GB RAM).

Samsung A71 - decent specs for a mid-tier phone (128 GB storage, 6 GB RAM)

LG Velvet 5G - big screen, 128 GB of storage, 6 GB of RAM and 5G capable.

TCL 10 Pro - a little quirky, based on a couple of responses in this community. Spec-wise, with 128 GB of storage and 6 GB of RAM, this is a well spec’d phone.

Google Pixel 4a - 128 GB of storage, 6 GB of RAM, smaller form factor.

Personally, I would pick the LG Velvet 5G. I have the LG G8x ThinQ and the LG Q Stylo+, both phones are of decent build quality, the G8x having more RAM.  Security and system updates are slow with LG, where phones like the Google Pixel 4a or Samsung A71 receive updates a little more frequently.  Not a dealbreaker. I haven’t run into any problems with either of my LG phones. Best of luck with your choice, if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.

It is hard to pick.

If you just focus on the price, you might get a good deal with "Tab bonus". But, you need to pay back a big chunk later if you cancel or upgrade again within 24 months,

So, you can get  P30 pro with $120 upfront plus $15/mo. ( Bonus is $710)

P40 is $144 upfront plus $$15/mo. ( Bonus is $436)

They are not really mid phone ( for me).

I have used LG velvet ( just used it half day. My friend let me use his phone to try out). And I liked it. I took some pictures ( no night mode) and it's good enough. I liked the shape of phone, but it's big. I needed both hand to type.      It's a $0 upfront plus $15/mo phone. Bonus is $390, but it's manageable.

I'm using Pixel 4a now. I loved night mode. I got really nice night sky pictures. It's good for basic functions. I'm old fashioned type, so I needed time to get used to a phone without home button 😅. I can type in one hand.   It's a $0 upfront plus $15/mo. Bonus is $180.  So, I love the price.

If you want better speed or camera function, it might be better to spend a little more to get P30 or p40.  But, if you are not too picky about it, the LG Velvet or even 4a is good.

A71  might be a good mid range. But, I don't have experience with it, so I can't tell…
