Allow prepaid customers access to Extended Coverage

Userlevel 3
I live in Winnipeg and my understanding is monthly customers are allowed the extended coverage but not prepaid. I like Koodo prepaid because it suits my needs and the prices are great. I plan on traveling into other areas of the Province and having the extended coverage available to prepaid customers would be beneficial. For all customers across Canada.

That is a great idea. But you can just get a booster to satisfy the canada wide calling and i believe text and data are already included in canada wide for prepaid. But it would be good for the monthly plan of the unlimited calling. 🙂

OP is asking about extended coverage, which means it will connect to another carrier's cell towers when in an area that the other covers and Koodo doesn't, like Rogers in Manitoba. Having Canada-wide calling won't matter if there's no service.

oh i get what the op is saying and All cell phones bounce off of different carriers. i constantly bounce of the states cause i am so close. What i am saying is that would be pointless for the reasons i listed above and considering koodo is part of telus also public mobile and i believe they also use bell towers or they use too. So again pointless. If your hitting some where with absolutely no service the likelyhood another carrier has one there is pretty small.

Most of Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Thunder Bay and area would fit the OP expectations.

To my knowledge none of the pre-paid carriers allow roaming off their network. Whether it is international roaming, or national roaming, it seems not to occur.

It's about time someone changed that.

I live in Winnipeg. Koodo has a roaming agreement with another provider-extended coverage-within Manitoba. So if I'm travelling in Manitoba where there isn't Telus towers, my phone would roam on the other providers towers. This is for monthly customers only. From coverage map section: 1. Manitoba extended coverage available to customers with HSPA/LTE phones. To be eligible for this coverage, customer’s primary residence and billing address must be within Koodo’s own HSPA+/LTE network coverage areas when they buy or use Koodo services. Not available with prepaid service. Data transmission speeds are lower, resulting in longer load times for video streaming applications and file downloads, and some applications are unavailable in extended coverage areas. Use of voice, text, and data services respectively in any month is limited to half of total usage for such services in such month.
