Unfortunately YouTube red isn't available in Canada yet, thry haven't been able to get the licencing deal complete. It's a very intriguing service though that I've been waiting for months to come to Canada so hopefully they will work things out and get a release out soon here.

Are there any apps that allow us to listen to music without the screen being on and it's free ?

See above...

If downloading is important to you, you'll probably have to pay. I pay for Deezer...another music service

My music is either ripped CDs I have purchased over the years, or streamed from an online radio source through TuneIn Radio or Reciva Apps or directly from the station's website. There are lots of choices once you look.
