I have a samsung galaxy s3 and just purchased the monthly $40 international package (my first time purchasing an add on).   I followed the directions and texted 30BUNDLE to 5242. I then received the message back asking me if I was sure I wanted to purchase the add on and responded back with YES40. Then I received a message from 5338 telling me that the add on is now active and when it would expire.  I responded back saying Thank you.  Then I received a message back from 5338 saying "Your attempt to turn your data back on has not been successful due to an incorrect response. Please try again (your account will not be double charged if you were buying more data)  Can anybody explain this message? and how do I tell if the add on actually is activated
Thanks in advance for your help

Melodie, the text message system to subtibe to a roaming add-on is all automated. You were never talking to a real person and you don't text the number anything besides coses it would accept. So when you said thank you, it wasn't going to a specific person who was helping you out.

Nothing on your account was effected or changed and just ignore the message you got. The add-on is still on your account

Thanks for the response Timo :)  So, if I check the box where it says Group Messaging, I will only be charged for 1 text when I send it to multiple people on my international add on package?

Correct, although it will go out as an MMS, which meant that you must have data turned on in order to send it. (limitation of the picture messaging system).

Will data actually be used when sending an MMS? In the international add on pack there is only 50 MB of data and I will not be sending pics through MMS, just messages.
Also, does SMS messaging require the data to be turned on? Currently I have it set to SMS and Data off (works fine)

SMS messages do not require data, as they are sent through the phone portion of the network. This is also why they are limited to about 140 characters and a single recipient per message. MMS messages are sent through the data portion of the network. This allows them to be more flexible, allowing them to include things like multimedia attachments and multiple recipients, but it also requires that they be able to use data. The amount of data used will be similar to that used by email. It will vary based on length of message and any attached content.
