I got a monthly plan from Koodo, which is $55 per month and for each month I will get $10 back, which means my monthly plan fee is $45. Today I got my first bill from Koodo, it includes the first monthly plan fee $45, and also the partial charge from Jan 1 - Jan 10, which is $18.33. I do understand what does the partial charge mean. But I'm just really angry that how can you calculate the partial fee based on $55 ($55/30days*10days=$18.33). The idea of this promotion and this plan is to provide the user a plan which charges $45/month. So definitely you are supposed to charge the partial fee based on $45/month!!!!
I really look forward to your reasonable explanation on this problem.

Hi there!

You bring a very good point, but as you said, and as your Customer Service Agreement say, your plan is 55$ a month, so partial charges will always be on your monthly plan before any promotions or discounts.

Honestly, I do not see any error, it is perfectly normal.

Hi Yue,
In the Koodo website, it said "The $10/month credit will begin on the first full month of service and continue for the next 12 or 6 months as stated online" https://www.koodomobile.com/rate-plans?INTCMP=KMNew_NavMenu_Shop_Plans

The $10 credit should be applied in the bill cycle of Jan 11-Feb10

By the way, how did you change your plan?. The promotion is for new activation or renewals (hardware upgrade).

@Azure
The OP states the plan includes a prorated amount, so it sounds like a new plan not a changed plan.

@David: I changed my plan recently (upgrade). Somehow the previous monthly payment was refunded as a credit and Koodo prorated my new plan for the cycle.
Still, I am not sure if this is the normal, btw.

Sounds normal to me.
You'd get a refund for the remaining days left in the cycle for your old plan (since you pay in advance) and then a prorated portion of your new plan for the days left in the billing cycle.

OP mentioned he received first bill. So, I don't think he did plan change.

Hey,

I'm a new activation so I get the promotion. By the way, the Canadian mobile service is really expensive...

Thank a lot for the comments from all your guys!

Web said " get a $10 bill credit for 12 months ..."

- So, you will receive it on the full plan price of your plan - $55 in your case - for 12 months.
Your $55 plan will be $45/mo for 12 monts.

Should they calculate your partial charge based on the credited/ discounted price? (I don't think so. )
Partial charge is not count as 1st monts.

And you will still get 12 full months of the credit

It clearly says "The $10/month credit will begin on the first full month of service". A partial month is not a full month.
