Wow Mobile sales rep said I get to keep the 3GB bonus data even after the 24-month period?

I walked up to a Wow Mobile Boutique kiosk and their sales rep suggested me to go with the Koodo $60 - 6GB byop no tab. I thought that was a great deal so I said sure let's do it. When I was signing up and doing all the paper work, I realized it was actually 3gb + 3gb bonus data for 24 months. I asked the sales rep why didn't he mention this is a 3gb+3gb deal but he reassured me that Koodo wouldn't drop the bonus 3gb even after 24 months. The sales asked me to call Koodo and say I am a loyal customer if they really drop it after 24 months. I still got the phone subscription with him as I really needed it but I feel that he was being dishonest up front? Is this even true or was he simply BSing and tried to get me to sign up with him?

Which location(Province,city) is it?
I don't see any bonus +3GB on Koodo's site. Is it "WOW Mobile" promo?
I don't think he was honest with you. I mean maybe he was hoping or assuming Koodo would do it.

There is no guaranty at all if you can keep your bonus after 24 months since it's said "bonus data for 24 months".  Also those bonus is usually attaching onto your plan. So, if you changed your plan, then you will likely lose your bonus...

Hello, it was in Richmond Hill, ON. I don't see the promotion on the Koodo website either so I am guessing it's only a wow mobile/Koodo promo. But yes I am not sure if I am being cheated on this?

If it was Wow Mobile promo and you got +3 GB bonus onto your $60 plan, then you got 6GB for 24mo (or until you change your plan)
So, this part is not cheated.

All I can say is there is no guaranty to keep bonus data after 24monts.

But, Koodo is offering promo plan here and there. You might see better plan before 24 months is up :)

Wilson,
The contract stated what you actually got. So it is 3Gb+3(24months). However, in today market, there would be other promotions every year. So unless you ignore all of those, you will get better plan within 12months or so. (last Dec it was $60 for 10GB).

You could also use the tactics as mentioned by the sale person: calling Koodo (especially when you saw competitors having promotion) .

It is a store only promo plan, the 3GB of bonus data does drop off after 24 months. I would go back and do a return if the terms aren’t agreeable.

The Wow rep did not explain the terms on the service agreement.

@Wilson, you agreement shows a plan with 3gb. The rest of the data, the other 3 is promotional and indeed expires after 24 months. The rep is incorrect and misleading by saying what they said. Will follow up with the specific store. Was it at the Hillcrest Mall?

Hello, yes it was at the Hillcrest mall location. When I asked the rep again about the bonus data 24-month expiry, he checked with his manager (wasn't dressed in wow mobile shirt) and the manager came by and said yes usually that's the case which I get to keep the bonus data even after the expiry date of 24 months. Then the rep said, the worst case call in Koodo and ask for any other promotional deals after being 2 years of the customer. The issue is, the rep should've told me it's a 3gb+3gb deal at the very beginning, instead he only said it's a $60/6gb deal and I didn't know the extra 3gb will only last for 24 months until I saw that on the contract. He never mentioned that until I brought up the question and asked him about it.

Well, 2 years is a long time and lots of things could change. Who knows the 10gb $60 deal may even be back.

Yes that's what others have been suggesting and I am definitely hoping the$60 10gb will return in the near future so I can jump on it.

Hopefully if that plan ever does come back it will be able to have a tab and not a BYOD plan.

You/we should keep our eyes on their(or any providers) promo plans often.
We might see good deals to take/switch it.

But, I hate store reps and even managers doing this kind of misleading or giving false info : "usually that's the case ..." or " the worst case call in to ask..." : to get people sign up.
Koodo really should investigate it and educate them(Retailer includes).

It definitely expires after 24 months. It is a retail exclusive promo. The only chance you have of Koodo reapplying it after 24 months is if the code still exists in their system. There is **never** a guarantee for that. The rep should not have assumed you could keep it. This is bad business and seems rather presumptuous on his part.

Do not ever assume that a rep working at a kiosk knows what they are talking about. Usually they dont and just want you to sign up. Read the contract you are signing.

And Telus/Koodo now want you to pay an activation fee for this stellar help that their reps offer you. You are for sure better off signing up yourself online for free.
