This is a public forum so most of us are just customers like you. That said I'm looking at the telus site and the iPhone 5s 16gb is $100 and you have to get a minimum of $70 for a plan. In any case I'm pretty sure the phones between telus koodo work just fine.

You can, but then you will have a 2 year contract with telus. And if yoyu cancel it you have to pay full price for the phone, which means you might as well buy the phone unlocked direct from apple.

Hi Glenn,

In short: no. The reason TELUS offers these phones for so much less up front, is because you'll be stuck with a $80 plan or more.

Koodo offers lower rates plans with more minutes/data, but you pay more up front for the phone, based on the Tab you choose

There is Tab S, where you pay most for the phone and Tab M, where you pay less up front and $5 on top of your plan.

There is also Tab L which is more in line with Telus' prices: horrible plans but you pay less or nothing for the phone up front.

It's a choice you have to make for yourself: if you want instant gratification (low phone price) but high plan cost, go with TELUS. If you can afford it, pay a little extra for the phone up front and get all the goodies Koodo has to offer, for a lower monthly price.

Can't have your cake and eat it too (or eat your cake and have it, whichever is more correct haha) :) :)

If you get the phone on a contract then you'd have to have service from Telus for 2 years and pay for that service so not getting why you'd get the phone from Telus on subsidy then change to Koodo since you'd just have to pay the full price for the phone once you switch to Koodo.
Koodo also doesn't have contracts they have tabs that get paid off a little each month part by Koodo and part by yourself. You could get the 5s from Koodo for $75 at the time of purchase if you get a large tab which you need to get a large tab plan and you also have a $10 per month tab charge for the next 2 years or until the tab is paid in full whichever comes first.

I'm just a fellow customer, Glenn, I don't work for Koodo.

I wasn't being rude, I was stating facts. It's either, or, you can't have both... but I asked Paul to reply to you :D

I fail to see any rudeness from Sophia. Just because you don't like the answer doesn't make her rude.

No matter with whom you speak in this care, the simple fact is that in order to get the phone for $75, you have to be on a Tab L plan.

Hey Glenn, as the other Mobile Masters told you those are your two options because it doesn't matter what you pay for your plan for a large tab it has to be the specific tab large plans that are offered. Tab medium requires a plan of $30 or more which is where you fall under with your present plan so you would have to pay $275 for the phone at the time of purchase of the 5s. The Medium Tab is a much better option and definitely worth saving up the extra $200 to pay for the phone and keeping your present plan if it fits your needs which by the sounds of it it's exactly what you want.
