with prepaid, does "Local calling area" really matter?

I've been reading on the forum and just wanted to make sure I've got this straight. As far as I can see it doesn't matter what province/calling area I pick for prepaid, calls, text, and data always cast the same as long as I'm in Canada, is this the case?

That depends on which prepaid plan you get. If you are talking about the boosters, they are indeed Canadawide. But some of the "unlimited" plans are local only, which means you need a booster for any long distance call - only the local calls are included in those plans.

Edit; sorry, all of the "unlimited" prepaid plans are province wide - apparently Koodo has no local prepaid plans any longer.

A province wide plan would require booster minutes anytime you either call a number outside your current province or make/receive a call while outside your home province.

Thanks :)

sorry, I did mean booster packs, I'd just like to get the unlimited texting and buy minutes and data booster packs.

only reason I ask is that I'm ADD and would like to find a more easily remembered number.

I'm not sure you could choose any prvince you liek for your number. Or maybe that's only valide for post-paid but not the same thing on prepaid.

On the other hand, keep in mind that some people that are calling you might need to pay for LD calls.
