Wireless home phone setup fees

Hi,

I have a question about the Wireless home phone plan. There is a one time fee of $40 for the device, and $10 for a sim. So basically a $50 "setup" fee.

What if we already have those items? Can we use our own device and spare (new) sim and avoid this "setup" fee?

Please advise, thanks in advance.

Well the hub costs money. I wouldn't call it a fee to have to buy the equipment. If you already have it then I see no reason for you to be charged. It's possible you might need a new sim but I don't think so. You certainly can avoid buying a hub that you already have at the minimum.

Yes that would make the most sense to me too. But companies don't think like that from my experience... Which is why I want to hopefully get an official answer here on this matter =)

Judging by Bernard (an official rep) liking my comment, I would count that as an indirect official confirmation for you :)

In my personal experience with the WHP I had issues with trying to setup the unit because the unit didn't come from the kiosk that I had try to activate it. I had to wait at the kiosk while the Rep was on the phone with support for over 45 minutes so be prepared to possibly be standing there for a long time if you don't get the unit from the place your activating it.

You say you already have the unit and SIM Card, where did you aquire the unit and SIM Card and is the SIM Card one from another carrier or a cellphone that's already been activated prior?
