The community moderator provided the following reason for archiving: Questions about promo. have been clarified to confirm that the current $5/mth promotional rate as of June 2017 is for a 12-month period. Regular price after promotion ends is $20/mth.

I just got the wireless home phone hub December 30, 2016 and the rate is suppose to be $5 per month but my bill is for $9 for the period of December 30, 2016 to January 5, 2017. Doesn't seem right. It should be less then $5 for that time period. Can this be looked at or should I go back to place I got it? (Ontario)

It's the proration, partial first month and the full next month. Your bill is correct :)

Sophia is correct, Kim. Also - the pro-ration is based on the regular $20 charge. The promo applies to your first full month and the 11-months following (12-months in total). This is why the pro-rated amount will appear higher than you may have expected.

Even worse for me, it was advertised at 5$, when I got my service agreeement it said I would be charged 20$ per month. What's the deal with that Koodo?

I agree about the price for sure, I know what I'm currently paying for my landline. I only use my cell for emergency.. I have gone right to the point of "check out" on the website I posted above and nothing whatsoever has shown up as to 12 months.

From their main page, they have this $5/mo home phone promo shows there. It also said "Offer ends July 11, 2017. " on same page . And "Legal stuff" link following.
You can see '1' indicated after '$5/mo for 12 month!1' and there are detailed info on that link.

Yes, those info should be on the "Home phone " page too. And/Or Nitty Gritty.
It's not customer friendly layout and it's confusing many people.

The promo period is also posted on the 'Phones' landing page.
