I got the CAD Wide 40$ plan last month when the airtime was 200 minutes, and the data was 400M. But I noticed that recently there is the double minutes and double data promotion. So will I get the double minutes promotion automatically?

No, you have to make the change in self serve. If you request a rate plan change through customer service a $10 rate plan change fee would apply.

Luckily, since it is the same price point, you won't have to worey about proration charges and can switch anytime during your billing cycle.... so the earlier you switxh the sooner you get to reap the benefits

Is the double data/minutes offer right now for new customers only? I am thinking of upgrading (phone and plan) and was wondering if I, too, would receive this offer.

I think this deal is for all the customers. I just switched my plan to the new one last week from my online account. :) You might as well try that:)

FWIW, I signed up on the $40, 400 MB / 200 minutes plan at the end of September. I chose BYOD (using my existing phone) so I get the 10% no-tab discount, and I have no commitment period.

I found out about the new similar $40 promotion but now with 400 minutes, after I picked up a flyer at the Koodo kiosk in the mall. I just went into Self Serve as suggested here to upgrade, but it seems I was already upgraded!

Perhaps because I'm on BYOD/no commitment, or my activation was very recent, the system did it for me?

Nevertheless, I'd suggest you always check to ensure you don't miss out. From past experience (with other companies) I've learned that plan upgrades seldom happen automagically.

It's possible that because you singed up to this plan recently it upgraded automatically! It happened to quite some people in fact
