I would like to purchase a chinese cell phone over internet and I wish to know if it will work on Koodo's network? Here's what it should work on; Unlocked 2G GSM 800/850/1800/1900MHz
3G:WCDMA 850/2100MHz

Thanks for answering!

Koodo runs on 3g/wcdma 850/1900 so the phone should work but I don't recommend it since the coverage might be spotty since that phone is missing the 1900 MHz for 3g.

Got it Daniel, thanks for the advice! Does anyone else add any experience with such phone with Koodo? If yes, what was your perspective?

I work at a koodo kiosk, personally every time someone brings an international phone to koodo 90% of the time the phones usually dont work. If the phone is unlocked you can always go to a koodo kiosk and they will stick one of their live demo sim cards in your phone to see if it will work with our network :)

Hi TeaBird, thanks for your answer but if this cell phone work on the WCDMA 850 MHZ and so is Koodo, isn't suppose to be working?

It will work in some places but not in others. I had a phone with only the 850 band and lost coverage whenever I went out into the country (I lived in Kitchener at the time). I don't recommend using a phone without both 850 and 1900 bands.

we cant gurantee that it will. Best option is to try an active koodo sim in the phone and see if it connects.
