So I'm currently with Rogers and thinking of switching contracts, I've been shopping around and am considering Koodo. I'd have to pay a cancellation fee though if I left rogers, and I'm wondering if Koodo would be willing to pay it?

No. No phone company does that right now.

Why would Koodo pay your cancellation fee with Rogers. Did you not use their service?

Years ago (it's been a while now) phone companies did this as an incentive/promo to get people to switch.

Wind still does this. I've seen other companies do this as well from time to time, as a promotion. Mind you, they don't actually pay your cancellation fee but instead offer service credits.

Fair enough, I don't live in a city with the "new" entrants so I'm not familiar with their promos.
