Why is my Galaxy Ace II x not vibrating?

It has stopped vibrating when I receive messages on whatsapp and sms. Don't know what the problem is. I've checked the settings to make sure vibrate is on. In settings it shows it's on, and in the notification bar, the icon shows mute. I would add the screenshot that I took but I the 'add image' button doesn't want to work on either Chrome or Firefox (fix it Koodo!)

I've tried restarting the phone but the problem doesn't go away.

Also, the phone does vibrate for other apps, like when I skip a question on Unlock your Brain, it still vibrates regardless of the vibration setting of the phone. So the vibration works, just not with whatsapp and sms and any other apps which I receive notifications for. It vibrates when I change the setting from mute to vibrate as well.

I don't know what's wrong and I'd like it to start vibrating again. Don't want my friends to think I'm ignoring them when simply I don't even know I've been messaged.

Any help would be appreciated.

P.S. I've noticed that the notification bar periodically freezes at times also (ie. time will stay frozen for a bit). I thought that might have something to do with this ...

Koodo has nothing to do with Get Satisfaction, in terms of what they can do to fix issues. That is an issue you would need to take up with Get Satisfaction, however you can use HTML code to post images from another seite.

The only thing I can recommend is reviewing the settings for all affected applications. Beyond that, you can try a factory reset.

ah well, I wasn't aware of that ....
I've looked at all setting for all applications, the setting are fine but still no vibrations.
Factory reset seems a bit extreme. I reset the phone about a month ago and I've only had it since April. When I read reviews for this phone, I thought it much better than the one I had before, which was also a Samsung Galaxy device (though not one that was sold in Canada, I bought it from India) ... I'm just so tired of this phone already. So many problems and glitches and no updates at all from Samsung. I'm not asking for JB considering that this phone is only sold in Canada as far as I know, but at least get rid of the glitches in ICS. I'm considering writing them an email. This is too much. I shouldn't have to pay $600 for a decent phone. I only need it to make the occasional call and texting.

Attached images, hopefully it works and you can see what I mean.

Go into Settings -> Sound. Change the Sound Profile to 'Sound' and then scroll down the menu until you see a thing about 'Sound and vibration'. Make sure the checkbox for that is checked. Then change the sound profile to vibrate and your phone should vibrate.

I did end up resetting my phone anyway because the setting wouldn't stay. If I changed to mute at night and then wanted to change to vibrate in the morning, I'd have to repeat these steps every time. After resetting the phone though, the setting has stayed as it's supposed to.

Hope that helps (:

The phone is a little glitchy but it's also $150 outright. It's a fine little talk and text phone but it's going to struggle a little bit because it doesn't have powerful hardware.

You don't have to spend a ton of cash to get a decent phone. Have you played with the Nexus 4 at all? It's $300 (- any Tab you have available) and is super fast and smooth with the excellent hardware inside, a better camera, 16 GB storage (but not expandable), will get updates faster and usually immediately being a Google phone and it comes factory unlocked for use anywhere in the world (almost).

Try this: Go into Settings -> Sound. Change the Sound Profile to 'Sound' and then scroll down the menu until you see a thing about 'Sound and vibration'. Make sure the checkbox for that is checked. Then change the sound profile to vibrate and your phone should vibrate.

If that doesn't stay or work, you might have to reset your phone. The setting didn't stay for me but after the reset, it was fine.

Personally, I gave up on the phone anyway, I couldn't deal with how slow and glitchy it was.
