Why does the billing date fluctuate?

Why does the due date for paying your bill fluctuate? It messes with me. There is a fair sized gap. Usually between the 15th and the 19th. I understand it could be paid sooner, but not everyone has that luxury in this crazy expensive world. Chasing after a banks computer system is bad enough.
Last month the billing date was the 18th and this month it was the 16th. It would appear that I lost a day of already paid service. Keeping in mind that June has only 30 days.
Sincerely .. Loves consistency

You're also not losing any days (except for February). I'm going to use the first of the month as an example.

While my billing date may flucuate in the 20s, my month starts on the first (not the billing due date), and is always based on a 30 day period. The months with 31 days you're kinda sorta technically getting one day free, but obviously you pay for extra days in Feb so in the end it almost works out.

It's the same regardless of what your due day is, check the top left of your bill, in that corner it will tell you what day of the month is your true first day.
