Why does my phone suddenly say no SIM

Could be a number of things. Reader could have gone bad, sim could have gone bad etc.

Some tests include removing and replacing the sim as well as trying a different sim.

Also remove/replace the battery, phone could just need a reboot.
I'm at 44% battery and have rebooted 4 x. Will try to reboot again

Sorry missed the iPhone tag.

Try going settings/general/reset/reset network settings.

all this will do is delete your wifi networks as far as data loss goes.

Also try removing the sim card, rebooting it, then insert the sim card.

Try testing another Koodo SIM in your phone to see if it works. If it does, then your SIM card is defective and you should replace it ($10 + tax) by visiting any Koodo shop or authorized retailer.
