why can't i call with my galaxy ace 11...message about my sim card and can only use for emergency call

Settings > More > Mobile Networks > Network Mode, set to gsm/wcdma auto.

Leave phone on, take out battery, wait 1 minute, put battery back in, turn phone back on.

ty will get my hubby to try this as he has my phone out west with him so it is very frustrating for him

What does the message say about the sim card?
Unregistered sim?
No sim?
Sim card locked?
All three will result in the phone being usable for emergency calls only.

Power off the Ace 2x. Remove the battery cover and verify that a SIM card is installed. If so, carefully remove the SIM card, then re-insert card, making sure that it is fully seated against the back edge of the SIM card holder, do not apply excessive force. Re-install battery cover and power on the Ace 2x.
