Why am I seeing data charges, no data on my plan.

I just got my new Galaxy S3 today, and not even 5 minutes after activating it tells me that I was at 75% of my data limit, which I don't even have data on my plan. I called to have data blocked from my phone, only to get another text saying I'm at 95%, and now I check my online account and it says I have a $5 charge, which I'm only assuming it will go up. And yes, I've unchecked every box necessary in order to not have data. I've done everything besides put my phone in airplane mode.

Its possible that when the store activated your plan they did not check the "block data" button that retail stores have as an option when they're activating your new phone. I'd call in to koodo and find out if the data block is on and if not have them turn it on. I can't speak for koodo but I imagine they'll take a $5 charge off if it's not supposed to be there. Koodo is great that way.

Did you upgrade to the S3? Were you a koodo customer before?

Yes, I was a Koodo customer before. Upgraded to the S3 from the Galaxy Ace. I called into Koodo after the first text and had them do the 'block" thing, but then a couple hours later, and after unchecking all the boxes I was told, I get another text.

There is sometimes a lag between when data is used and when it registers in self serve

I don't have a data plan is my issue. It's even blocked on Koodo's end (so I'm told)...

When Did you block it on koodo's end? Before upgrading? after the first warning text?

After the first text is when I called them.

Then the following texts I would attribute to the lag. However if you want, you can login to self serve and check to see if the data block is there in your add-on section
