Why would my phone say I have an unregistered sim card, when I just registered it?

I just registered my new sim card,I got the "success" page, but my phone is still saying "unregistered sim", I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace. Is there a delay before it shows as registered? I have a $5 balance on the phone and I can't make or receive any phone calls either. When I called the cell phone from my house phone it said my number is not in service. Do I have to do anything else to make or receive calls? Also, when I try to top up my credit, I get a msg saying they couldn't process my top up pin numbers. What can I do?

Try restarting the phone. The account may be set up on Koodo's end, but your SIM has no way of knowing that till it refreshes the connection with the central office.
