I switched back to my newer phone now that it is charged I had received a message to call the portal center that I was not able to get on the Koodo network although I was partially on as I could make outgoing calls for now I am good but it would be nice I like to use that old phone once in awhile cuz it is so small

Hi J.Z,

I think you're referring to Koodo's CDMA network. TELUS/Koodo has phased out CDMA networks in many regions across Canada. Customers have since migrated from CDMA to HSPA networks. Your older phone will no longer work once the CDMA network shutdown reaches completion.
