Why is Nexus 5x so expensive on Koodo?

Nexus 5x on the Play Store is $499+tax.  On Koodo, it's $654+tax.

This is apples-to-apples...not a different phone or different version...not 16 GB vs 32 GB.

How is this justified?

Koodo customers accumulate tab credit and it will now take $155 of credit just to get it for the same price.

I love Koodo and have had many family members and friends switch...but this is outrageous!

Can someone from Koodo please justify this incredible disparity or, even better, adjust the price to something that is near-normal?

The Nexus line has always been more expensive with carriers than from Google. No "good" reason.

A little bit more fine...as Brett mentions, the 6P illustrates the gap that can be expected...but >30% is extortionate

The Nexus 6P is at $724 versus the Google Play store price of $699. The $25 difference seems like normal/reasonable carrier markup. The $155 markup on the 5x is a little over the top and I hope people do their research and steer clear of it at the $654 price point.

Looks like the Carriers got a really bad deal from Google on the 5x

and yet somehow even Virgin can offer it for a max of 579.99. Seems to me to be a major markup for no good reason.

Get the 5X on Tab for $100+tax down, pay the $15+tax Tab for three months, then pay off your $315+tax Tab, total paid for the phone is $460+tax.
