Hello Melissa

There may be many reasons for that. Did you pay your bill lately? Was it reported as stolen?

What makes you think it's deactivated? What's happening to you?

If it's just not working and you haven't gotten a warning about it being deactivated then it could just be service issues, try taking the battery out if it's removable and put it back in, if the battery isn't removable then try while the phones on holding the power button down the screen will shut off but keep holding the power button until it comes back on and then release the power button (power cycling the phone) and see if that gets your service back.
